The course can be a stand-alone or part of a bigger workshop or retreat. It builds a solid foundation for sacred dance or any spiritual practice.

After completing the online certification program, you will be able to teach, build, and promote your own Dance as a Spiritual Practice© courses. You will also be given templates to use the course material in other ways such as ceremony, retreats, and as the dance piece of a more extensive workshop.

Learn the skills

to start spreading sacred dance in your community!

More about what you’ll uncover each week:

Module One

We begin the journey by creating a base on which to build. I will present my philosophy about dance and teaching, and we will look at the basic principles of how students learn and the critical “basics” that need to be included in every class.

Module Two

We explore the content you will include in the Dance as a Spiritual Practice© course, grounding, connecting, sacred space, the ecstatic experience, moving energy, healing dance, and becoming the vessel.

Module Three

In Module Three, we begin working on the movement exercises. You will learn the movement exercises. We will focus on the essential aspects of each practice and how they serve as the experiential piece for the student to ground and embody the information they are learning.

Module Four

Module Four is devoted to bringing it all together. This is an opportunity to catch up if you need to catch up. It is also an opportunity to assimilate all the information that has been seeded.

Module Five

How do you run a class? We will work on structuring a class from content to presentation. You will be given handouts and scripts that can be used to teach and guide the student through the exercises and the course.

Module Six

Filling in the gaps—by Module Six, you will be able to identify what is missing in your own learning. You will have prepared a class, worked with the exercises, and had time to process everything. This is where you can assess what else you need to fully understand the process of teaching sacred dance to others. This is the polishing or fine-tuning phase.

Module Seven

Now, it’s time to bring in more variety. How do we adapt the basic 2-hour Dance as a Spiritual Practice© course into other formats? You will be presented with templates to adapt the course into shorter and longer workshops using the same information and exercises.

Module Eight

This week, we focus on your audience, your vision, and your venues. We will look at all the logistics involved in actually producing the class.

Module Nine

In this Module, we focus on technology—why it is important and how to do it. We will work on social media, email lists, and landing pages. And fill in the blanks in your own skills.

Module Ten

Now, we have collected all the pieces of the puzzle, both creative and technical. It’s time to revisit the material, put it all together, polish and add layers. By adding layers, we can extend the class into longer formats and retreats. We will also look at working with different age groups and people with different physical conditions.

Module Eleven

In Module Eleven, we will wrap it all up. We will follow up with questions, pieces I missed, and things that need to be elaborated on, as well as a detailed explanation of the Certification Process.

Module Twelve

We begin the certification process. This is an opportunity for you to finish all the coursework and prepare for your first class or demonstration. There will be a 30-minute one-on-one session with each student and another one at the end of the certification process.

The Certification Process

The student has one month after the 12-week program to complete the certification process. During this time, the student works closely with the instructor to prepare and present a demonstration class leading to certification.

You’ll come away with:

  • A certification to teach Dance as a Spiritual Practice© Foundation Course in your own community

  • A set of simple, powerful tools and practices you can use to create your own courses and ceremonies

  • The ability to use the appropriate technology to teach, and promote your courses, such as websites, email lists, landing pages and social media

  • An online community there to support during and after the course

  • The confidence and tools to teach and help other women experience the power of sacred dance

  • A source of income that can give you a return on your investment as well as the feeling that you are contributing to the growth of others

Leslie Zehr is a mystic, sacred arts teacher, workshop leader, mentor, and author, who, for more than 30 years, has supported women to reconnect to the Divine Feminine within through the mysteries of ancient Egypt. Born in Peru and educated in the United States, Leslie followed a calling to "return" to Egypt in 1986 to learn about and experience the ancient mysteries. In 2002, after an initiation experience at Dendera Temple in Luxor, she received and developed the Universal Dancer, a simple but profound method of Sacred Dance that works with sacred geometry, primordial energies, waves, and the chakras to unlock intuition, vitality, and creativity. A trained hypnotherapist, reiki master, astrologer, aromatherapist, and homeopath, Leslie is the author of two books –The Alchemy of Dance: Sacred Dance as a Path to the Universal Dancer, which has been translated into Spanish; and The Al-chemia Remedies: Vibrational Essences from Egyptian Flowers and Sacred Sites – as well as a CD entitled "Navel Portal Activation and Guided Visualizations." In Cairo, Leslie founded and ran The Centre for Health and Well-being, which later became The Centre for Sacred Arts, a modern-day temple for learning and creativity honoring the Goddess Hat-Hor. Her lectures and workshops in Sacred Dance and the Al-chemia Remedies have taken her from Cairo, ancient Egyptian temples, and archaeological sites along the Nile River to studios and centers in New York, Maine, Maryland, Arizona, Washington, and Puerto Rico.

What people are saying...

“I was one of the two first graduates from Leslie Zehr’s Dance as a Spiritual Practice Certification Program. I joined Leslie’s first Certification course because I find her writing and teaching visionary. The course, every bit, fulfilled my wishes. It is both transformational and inspirational. I have learned so much, and understood yet more, under Leslie’s expert guidance.

The materials are placed on the teaching platform at weekly intervals.  Through the excellent audios and manual, Leslie guides us on a multi layered journey.  The manual allows us space to process our learning within its pages. Leslie taught us the structure, but always sought ways to enable each of us to find our place within it and to express ourselves accordingly.

Leslie was also teaching by transmission and as the course progressed I could feel the unlocking of deeper levels of my being.  Leslie gave us many diverse links to beautiful music and led us by example.  Leslie is a radiant light and an incredible guide.  Leslie gives so much and always remains caring and thoughtful.

My sincere thanks to Leslie for this incredible and life changing journey.”— Charlotte Prud’homme, Lotus Flower Dance and Yoga Studies

"A fantastic opportunity to reflect on and develop a framework for yourself to become a teacher introducing spiritual dance, launching yourself into the world with your gifts and aspirations with Leslie's support."—Monique

"[Leslie] Your help and expertise with the processes of technology was invaluable and your patience in explaining and ensuring connectivity was vital. Before I signed up I had no real experience with Mailchimp, setting up a Landing Page or creating a UDL…. well what a steep learning curve you danced me through!! I feel sure that your skills in this area, coupled with your passion and wisdom for Sacred Dance, are helping to promote and create community. We can never know what our legacy is for those who dance after us, but mentoring and sharing can only enrich the world of Sacred Dance for all those who follow us."—Tricia mary Lee, Busselton, Western Australia

"[Leslie] You were an attentive, thorough, patient guide into the creation of a Landing Page and the technical details that makes it work. I truly appreciated your guidance and support."—Joana Saahirah, Portugal

"Leslie is an exquisite mentor as not only does she have a profound knowledge and experience with online marketing and publishing, she also is gifted looking at situations from multiple perspectives. She always comes up with useful insights you would never have thought of yourself."—Nada Jan, Cairo, Egypt
